Who Is Each NBA Team’s Greatest Player Ever?

We all know who the greatest of all time in the NBA is, however, that is a debate for another day. 🙂

Today, we are asking who is each NBA team’s greatest player ever??? Below is my list.

Now, before you start picking it apart and telling me how wrong I am, note the elements I considered in creating my list:

  • Stats
  • Impact
  • Longevity (At least 4 years with the team)
  • Leadership

People often point out that stars in the modern era change teams too often. In researching for this post, I realized that even in what most of us 40-year-old+ fans call the Golden Era of the NBA (1976ish-1998ish), many star players played for multiple teams as well. Some players’ best years may have occurred on teams that they are not necessarily known for playing for. Others may be synonymous with a particular team, yet they may have only played there for a short time.

Check out my list and let me know what you think. If you think someone doesn’t belong, who would you replace them with? Sound off in the comments section and don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe!

  1. Come on Bro…
Here’ where you are so wrong
    -Kings- Hands down Mitch Richmond
    -Portland -should have been Dame
    -Lakers-Magic
    -Boston- Larry Bird
-Wizards-Jordan Poole! Lol, I’m lying trying to get attention. The Wizards are forever terrible and so is JP.

  2. Alonzo Mouning for Charlotte, Nicola jokic for Denver clearly because he won a ring, Magic for LA cause he play center when Kareem was hurt and won title that year, pau gasol for Memphis, shaq for Orlando, everything is okay

    1. Good choices Rashad.

Alonzo is great, but for me he didn’t meet the longevity criteria in Charlotte. He only played there 3 years.
I went back and forth on Magic and Kareem. I don’t think you could go wrong with either.
The early days of Shaq were spectacular. In modern times, I don’t think we have seen anyone quite so dominant. Teams literally had people on there rosters just to foul Shaq.
I went with Conley over Gasol, because he was there longer and is the all time leader in points for Memphis.

      1. Since no one else is playing today I’ll say for Charlotte an argument could be made for mugsy and Larry Johnson…power one two combo

  3. I know we are going by stats, but I’m gonna have to pick Connie Hawkins 69-73 with Phoenix Suns. Though his BeastMode years were prior …. in ABA. Unfortunate points scandal and undrafted by NBA and later injury…robbed him of true dominance, even though he gave 1970 Lakers (3 HOF) in lineup ‘the BUSINESS’ . #Hawk #TheMan #BrooklynBallin’

    1. Rachael. That was a good one. I have to admit, I was not very familiar with Connie Hawkins. I checked out some highlights on YouTube. He was definitely athletic and had no trouble getting to the hole. He was embarrassing people 😆! In the clips I saw, he was making Harlem Globetrotter plays in real games. Looked like a grown man playing with little kids.

  4. Are you OK? Did you really rate Kemba Walker as the All time best Charlotte Hornets Player?
The correct answer is Larry Johnson. He was a man child. Powerful, excellent rebounder, scorer, and defender! Lead the team to the playoffs and I’m pretty sure the most single season wins came with him on the roster.

    1. Yes, Grandmama😂🤣 He was amazing coming out of UNLV and ol’ Tark. He was massive and crazy vertical for his size. He was lite on his feet.

    2. Todd! Please come with facts! I love Larry Johnson, LJ, Grandmama as he was called! One of my favorite players ever. However, you are incorrect. The Hornets best season record wise was in 96-97 with Glen Rice as the star. Kemba’s career average with the Hornets was 20pts and 6ast. He played in Charlotte for 8 years and average over 20 4/8 seasons.
Larry was there for 5 injury plagued seasons. Averaged over 20 2/5 seasons. Larry had better overall teams. But Kemba was the lone star and carried the team for a longer period.
