The Dallas Mavericks — Western Conference champions and finals runner-up from last season are now out of the playoffs. Where did things go south for a franchise that once showed so much promise as contenders, only to become pretenders?
Was it the unprecedented trade that dealt away their young, franchise, world-premiere player? Or was it the decimation caused by injuries that followed the trade? From Kyrie’s season-ending torn ACL to the plethora of injuries that plagued their big men, the setbacks piled up.
ESPN and other outlets are reporting that the Miami Heat are finalizing a deal to send Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors for Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round pick!

Butler has reportedly agreed to a new two-year deal worth $121 million dollars. Does this trade make the Warriors a contender? Let me know what you think in the comments section.
I woke up this morning to what seemed like fake news! Looking at the news feed on my phone, I saw a story that said Luka Doncic was being traded from Dallas to L.A. for ole “Street Clothes” himself, Anthony Davis! I quickly dismissed it as a hoax until I clicked the ESPN app and saw that it was the leading story on the worldwide leader in sports official site also! I was stunned, and I still am! All I can say is What?
What is Dallas thinking?
What did Luka do to the Mavs to make them think AD can help them better than he can?
What move is Dallas looking to make next? This move, in isolation, makes no sense. There has to be a step two to their plan.
I’ve refrained from commenting on Bronny because I genuinely wanted to see him succeed. Additionally, I have a deep appreciation for history and get excited when unprecedented moments occur in sports. With that in mind, I found it fascinating that Bronny was drafted by the Lakers, giving him the opportunity to “play” alongside his father.
I will admit, I was glued to the TV on October 6th as Bronny subbed into the Lakers’ preseason game against Phoenix, taking the court with his father for the first time in an NBA game. After that historic moment, the intrigue mostly wore off for me.
Bronny’s stats in NBA games this year have largely shown that the best part of his season, and possibly his career, came and went during that historic moment in that first preseason game.
His stats with the Lakers this year are horrid: 0.6 PPG, 0.5 RPG, and 0.4 APG in 14 games played. To be fair, he is only averaging four minutes per game. The problem is that he hasn’t looked good in those limited minutes.
Despite this, every time he touches the ball, he makes it onto SportsCenter and other sports talk shows—not because of his game, but because of his last name. I take nothing away from him; by all accounts, he works hard and is a good person. However, he is simply not a good NBA player, and he might never be.
That’s okay. My brother and uncles were all pretty good in their day. They played in high school, but I was cut in middle school. My point is that a last name and genetics don’t guarantee success in sports. I worked hard, I was a good person, and I was fast, but I lacked the talent needed to be successful (it didn’t help that I was only 5’5″). It could be that Bronny does too. I’m just saying.
His G-League stats, on the other hand, have been pretty solid—not quite All-Star caliber, but still impressive. In G-League games, he is averaging 16.3 PPG, 4.2 APG, and 4.2 RPG. On January 24th, he dropped 31 points on 10-for-22 shooting from the field, including 5-for-11 from deep. He also had this poster-worthy dunk!

Side note: What’s up with the tissue in his nose in the clip? How embarrassing when you’re caught on camera with tissue hanging from your nose in one of the biggest moments of your career!!! This man can’t catch a break!!!
Considering how well he has performed in the G-League, it seems logical that if he spends the rest of this season—and possibly next—developing his game there, he could eventually become a serviceable NBA player. However, success is not guaranteed.
Take John Stockton’s son, for example—he has spent a decade in the G-League and found great success, yet he has never been able to secure a long-term spot in an NBA rotation.
What do you think? Will Bronny become a long-term NBA player, or will he be a complete flop?
The 2025 NBA All-Star rosters have been released. The list is undoubtedly star-studded. However, there are some notable ommissions as referenced above. The Kansas City Chiefs are poised to make a run at their third consecutive championship. In major American sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL), winning three consecutive championships is a rare feat. Here’s a breakdown of the teams that have accomplished this across these leagues:
NBA Minneapolis Lakers (1952–1954) Boston Celtics (1959–1966; 8 consecutive championships) Chicago Bulls (1991–1993 and 1996–1998) Los Angeles Lakers (2000–2002)
MLB New York Yankees: 1936–1939 (4 consecutive championships) 1949–1953 (5 consecutive championships) 1998–2000
NHL Montreal Canadiens: 1956–1960 (5 consecutive championships) 1976–1979 (4 consecutive championships) New York Islanders (1980–1983; 4 consecutive championships) Toronto Maple Leafs (1947–1949; 3 consecutive championships)
NFL No team has won three consecutive Super Bowl championships since the Super Bowl era began in 1967. However, the Green Bay Packers won three straight NFL championships (pre-Super Bowl era) from 1965–1967.
So, several teams have achieved this in the NBA, MLB, and NHL, but none in the Super Bowl era of the NFL.
What is your favorite three-peat? For me, I grew up watching Jordan and the Bulls dominate in the 90s, so i’m partial to the Bulls. The second three-peat was particularly impressive to me, considering the age of the stars, the behind the scenes turmoil, and the fact MJ came back and prospered after taking off two years to play minor league base all.
What team do you think had the greatest three-peat of all time? Drop your opinion in the comments section below, and don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe!
ESPN and other sources are reporting that Jerry Jones has signed Brian Schottenheimer as the new head coach of the Cowboys! I am far from a Dallas fan, but I am asking a question that I am sure most Cowboys fans are asking as well. No, I’m not asking why Jerry didn’t hire Dieon Sanders. I am asking why on Earth would he hire Shottenheimer? To be fair, Shottenheimer was on Mike McCarthy’s staff as the OC for the last couple of seasons, so Jerry is very familiar with him. However, let us not forget that Coach Shottenheimer was an OC in title, but apparently was not good enough to call the plays on game day. Yet he is now suddenly good enough to be the head coach? I’m baffled! If he is such a great offensive mind, organizer, and strategist, why wouldn’t he be trusted with play calling duties as most OC’s typical are? I know it was Mike McCarthy’s decision as head coach to call plays himself, but if Jerry thought so highly of Shottenheimer, it’s not far fetched to think that he would have insisted that he call the plays as the OC. Jerry Jones is known for meddling in matters that most owners stir clear of.
As the son of an NFL coach, Shottenheimer has been around football his whole life. He himself has had a long career as an assistant coach (28 years) serving as a quality control coach, QB coach, and offensive coordinator with nine different teams. He has had some relative success, but his overall record has been mediocre at best. So why Jerry? Why? Why did you make this hire?
What do you think? Was Shottenheimer the right hire? Does Jerry Jones really believe he can win more with Shottenheimer than he did with McCarthy? Will he make Dallas a contender again? 🤔 Share your thoughts in the comments section! Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe.
During a recent press conference, Kansas City Chiefs’ Head Coach, Andy Reid, was asked to name the top 3 rappers alive. He actually names four, two of which many people would agree on. However, the other two will have you rolling. Check out the video below.
Let me know what you think of his list, and for fun, drop your list of the top 3 rappers alive in the comments section below.
After concluding a disappointing first season at Colorado, Coach Prime is locked in and focused on building for next year. However, a once promising recruiting class has taken a hit. Over the last several weeks, it has been reported that several commits have had a change of heart and will not be joining the Colorado hype machine. It also seems that several players from this season’s team are jumping ship and have entered the transfer portal (Most notably, starting LB Marvin Ham, II).
A Perfect Start, A Terrible Ending!
Before the start of the season, no one had any expectations for the Buffaloes. To the surprise of many, Prime’s squad started the season 3-0, including a victory over last year’s national runner-up, TCU. Colorado became the center of the College Football Universe and the Sports World in general. Despite much fanfare and great promise, the Buffaloes would only win one of their remaining nine games to finish a disappointing 4-8.
What Happened To The Buffs?
To be fair, Colorado was hit with several major injuries, including loosing two way star DB/WR, Travis Hunter, for several games and a late season back injury to QB Shaduer Sanders. Despite this fact, Prime’s Squad had enough fire power to win more than one of their last nine games. What happened to the Buffaloes? Oftentimes, the O-line seemed disengaged early in games, and the pass protection often broke down moments after the snap. Though Travis Hunter & Shilo Sanders showed flashes of greatness, the Buffaloes often left holes in the middle of the field, and the defensive play calling was abysmal late ij games.
Is Deion Overrated?
Deion had a ton of success in his brief career at Jackson State. He was regarded there as a brilliant leader, motivator, innovator, and winner. Aside from the first few games of this season, many would argue that at the D1/FBS level, he has been anything but brilliant. Prime lost more games this season (8) than he lost in three years at Jackson (6). This has led some to ponder if he is really cut out to coach a major college program, while others are still 100% bought in and believe Prime is the next big thing in coaching.
My Take
Deion Sanders is a polarizing figure. He talks a lot. I mean a whole lot! However, the man is a winner! He was a standout as a player at all levels. In coaching he won at the high school level, he dominated at Jackson State to the tune of a 27-6 record. He drew attention to HBCU’s like no coach ever has. He has drive, charisma, and confidence that makes people believe he can accomplish anything he wants.
Colorado was 1-11 in 2022 before Prime arrived on the scene. They finished 4-8 this season. No one can argue that four is more than one. Therefore, he did have a measure of relative success. Though some recruits have backed out and a few players are transferring, Boulder is still an attractive destination. Prime has the ability to get people noticed, and in the era of NIL deals, young athletes want eyes on them in hopes that it correlates to $$$. I think that with the foundation they have, plus what he will add in the transfer portal and via recruits, Coach Prime will have the Buffs in a better position to be competitive next year. Perhaps a 7-5 season. So do I think Deion Sanders is overrated? No!

I was hanging out with a couple friends recently who grew up during my era. One of them brought up the classic video game NBA Jam. The 2 on 2 iconic basketball video game was originally released by Midway as an arcade game in 1993. It paved the way for many other sports video games that would follow, as it was one of the first video games to feature the full names and likeness of NBA players and teams. It was released in 1994 for home gaming consoles such as Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo.
My parents didn’t have much money, so I typically could not buy video games when they were first released. Instead, I would have to ride my bike to Blockbuster Video or another local video store and rent games that I wanted to play. I can recall renting NBA Jam multiple times until I could afford to buy the game once the initial hype waned. I had many, many epic battles for hours on end with my brother and cousins on my Sega and fuzzy 19” tube tv.
NBA Jam was a perfect combination of realism and hyperbole. The people depicted were real, but the stuff they could do on the court was heavily exaggerated! The players could jump so high that they defied human ability and physics and could earn turbo speed! There were no fouls, so you could freely elbow and push your opponents around like rag dolls. (Now that I think about it, maybe this is where Draymond Green got the idea for his famous groin punches, chest stomps, and headlocks!). The game featured commentary from a voice that closely resembled the great Marv Albert. I still hear his catch-phrases in my head loud and clear: “Boomshakalaka”, “He’s heating up”, “He’s on fire!”, “Hey come on, the rim has feelings too.”
What sports video games bring back memories for you? Which sports video game would say is the best ever and why? Tecomo Bowl, Double Dribble, Madden, NBA Live, MLB The Show, Tiger Woods Golf, NBA 2K? Share your thoughts in the comments section below and don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe!
We all know who the greatest of all time in the NBA is, however, that is a debate for another day. 🙂
Today, we are asking who is each NBA team’s greatest player ever??? Below is my list.
Now, before you start picking it apart and telling me how wrong I am, note the elements I considered in creating my list:
Stats
Impact
Longevity (At least 4 years with the team)
Leadership
People often point out that stars in the modern era change teams too often. In researching for this post, I realized that even in what most of us 40-year-old+ fans call the Golden Era of the NBA (1976ish-1998ish), many star players played for multiple teams as well. Some players’ best years may have occurred on teams that they are not necessarily known for playing for. Others may be synonymous with a particular team, yet they may have only played there for a short time.
Check out my list and let me know what you think. If you think someone doesn’t belong, who would you replace them with? Sound off in the comments section and don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe!
• Atlanta Hawks- Dominique Wilkins • Boston Celtics- Bill Russell • Brooklyn Nets- Jason Kid • Charlotte Hornets- Kemba Walker • Chicago Bulls- Michael Jordan • Cleveland Cavaliers- LeBron James • Dallas Mavericks- Dirk Nowitzki • Denver Nuggets- Carmelo Anthony • Detroit Pistons- Isiah Thomas • Golden State Warriors- Stephen Curry • Houston Rockets- Hakeem Olajuwon • Indiana Pacers- Reggie Miller • Los Angeles Clippers- Bob McAdoo • Los Angeles Lakers- Kareem Abdul Jabbar • Memphis Grizzlies- Mike Conley, Jr • Miami Heat- Dwayne Wade • Milwaukee Bucks- Kareem Abdul Jabbar • Minnesota Timberwolves- Kevin Garnett • New Orleans Pelicans*- Chris Paul • New York Knicks- Patrick Ewing • Oklahoma City Thunder- Kevin Durant • Orlando Magic- Dwight Howard • Philadelphia 76ers- Julius Erving • Phoenix Suns- Steve Nash • Portland Trail Blazers- Clyde Drexler • Sacramento Kings**- Oscar Robertson • San Antonio Spurs- Tim Duncan • Toronto Raptors- Vince Carter • Utah Jazz- Karl Malone • Washington Wizards- Wes Unseld

I know I’m late writing about this, but I can not resist. Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors was recently suspended for 5 games after putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock during a game. Checkout the entire altercation by clicking the video below.
If you are a wrestling fan, I’m sure you would agree that this was a textbook application of a classic wrestling move! 🤣
It made me think who has a better headlock the NBA’s current King of Pettiness AKA Draymond Green or the Greatest Wrestler of All-time, Nature Boy (Wooooooo), Ric Flair? What do you think? Share your take in the comments section below.

In recent weeks, the two most popular sports debate shows on television have undergone major transitions.
After leaving “Undisputed” back in June, NFL Hall of Famer, Shannon Sharpe has joined Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s “First Take.” The pairing of Stephen A. and Shannon has already yielded some pretty compelling debates (including the always fun Jordan V. LeBron debate). We have also already seen blunders like Shannon accidentally calling Stephen A. Skip (as in his former co-host Skip Bayless) during the first few minutes of his debut episode! The jury is still out on the pairing to say the least.
On FS1, after returning from a two month hiatus, Skip Bayless has a new theme song (“Good Morning” by Lil Wayne) and a stellar squad of debate partners. Skip has gone blow for blow with NFL Hall of Famers Michael Irvin, Richard Sherman, and Keyshawn Johnson. The show has also featured appearances by Lil Wayne and Rachel Nichols. “Undisputed” has been a bit clunky, with the panel frequently talking over each other. Skip has repeatedly reminded his cohorts that he gets the last word. Lil Wayne’s commentary has been somewhat insightful, but it’s still weird hearing Weasie talk about sports. There have been some good debates, but I’m not sure how long these strong personalities can co-exist.
What do you think? Have you enjoyed the new lineups? How long will it be before Skip goes too far and alienates one of his new cohosts? Share your thoughts in the comments section below, and don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe!

For anyone who knows me or follows this site, you know that my family typically hates all things sports! They usually watch games with me just to make fun of me and my fandom or to disrespect the game! They do however like to watch the Super Bowl, not because they like football, or for the excitement of the game, but for the commercials and the halftime show! As usual they had many funny anecdotes, sly comments, and downright mean things to say about the game though! Take a look and enjoy. Regarding the Chiefs uniforms: “Ooo they hurt my eyes.”
“What color are their capris this year?”
“What’s up with Patrick Mahomes’ hair?”
6:33PM-“We still pregaming?”
“Why do they keep running out of bounds?”
“You know how many QB sneaks I’ve seen? 0, because I don’t watch football!”
“Why do the Chiefs have orange stripes on their uniform, when it’s not in the logo? That’s dumb!”
My mother in law: “Jay every time the Chiefs score, I’m going to hit you!” She whacks my arm after the 1st touchdown. Then they immediately show the replay. I get hit in the arm again. Me: “Ouch, that was just a replay, they can’t score again that fast!”
“Does the Super Bowl mark the end of the season?”
“Do everybody drink out of the same water bottle, ewww!”
” How much does the water boy get paid? I always wondered that.”
Undisclosed family member: “Hey Google, how much money does an NFL water boy make?” Google’s response “The average NFL water boy makes $53,000/year” Undisclosed family member: “For $53,000, I’d pour water in their sweaty, nasty mouths. They only work like one day a week!”
